Introducing...
The Creative One
Andy
It all started with a drink, a birthday and the dawning realisation that I was old and couldn't handle my booze.
The Organised One
Rose
Somebody needed to write down recipes and make endless lists. And do all the brewing. And the flavouring. And the bottling /canning. And the accounts. But it was still all Andy's idea.
How it all started
Hi! We are Rose and Andy - a husband and wife team, brewing craft kombucha on a beautiful farm just outside Totnes, in South Devon.
We stumbled upon kombucha as an alternative to alcohol, when sparkling water or sugary soft drinks just didn't cut it. Kombucha gave us a bit of a buzz and felt like a treat - and it was good for us!? It was a total game changer.
We started brewing our own kombucha in 2020, in Kilner jars in our spare room - and it was really good! People got wind of it and started wanting to buy it, so we had to move out of the spare room. That's how we ended up at Old Parsonage Farm, on the Dartington Estate.
We're now brewing around 1000L per month, supplying local bars, cafes, restaurants and shops with kegs and cans.
We're a small family business, but are growing steadily and have some exciting plans on the cards. Watch this space!
Ethical and Environmental
Considerations
We have thought long and hard about how to best source our ingredients and raw materials, which help to make our product what it is. As a result, we have decided to use well-sourced, organic ingredients wherever possible and to use packaging which can be easily and efficiently recycled.
We recently moved from glass bottles to aluminium cans, after learning that recycling a can uses 90% less energy than recycling a glass bottle! There'd always been an assumption that glass was the best option for the environment, but it's becoming clear that this isn't necessarily true.
We also offer our kombucha to bars in returnable and reusable kegs, which further reduces packaging waste.
We are extremely conscious that our product will have an impact on our environment so we aim to give a little back. We are proud to support tea growers across the world and acknowledge the struggle that many people face to harvest the products that we enjoy on a daily basis.
